It was the worst thing imaginable ever! The stunning white pony with the expertly styled mane dashed about her boutique, magically sorting through one chest and then the shelf getting more and more flustered. A smaller, white pony slunk out through the front door escaping the chaos as the cat slept peacefully, completely unconcerned by its owner’s obvious distress.
“Oh, where is it? I can’t find it! I simply cannot finish this order without that ribbon and if I don’t finish it I’ll be a laughing stock among fellow designers, shunned by the social elite. I’ll have to move from Ponyville to the Everfree Forest and design hats for rabbits out of mud and leaves!”
Rarity pressed a hoof to her heart and one to her head, swooning at the thought of her pending social downfall and fainted across her workbench dramatically. From the position she was gazing right at Opal Essence, her faithful feline and noticed the purple ribbon poking out from under her.
“OH! There it is!”
She whisked it out from the cat magically and turned back to her design form, completely oblivious that she’d startled her pet into falling into the nearby tub where she was dying some fabric. Opal yowled unhappy and clawed her way out of the liquid, now dyed green and flopped unhappily and almost as dramatically as Rarity onto the floor.
The sound roused the ponies’ attention and she flicked her gaze to her stricken pet and cried out, “Opal! Oh, my darling, sweet thing. What happened, you’re all green, are you sick?” She swooped down and swept the cat up in a warm blanket, “Oh you’re all wet, you must have a fever! Poor, poor Opal!” She raced up the stairs and shoved the cat into its bed, tucking it in too tightly which made it yowl pathetically again.
“I’ll find you help,” Rarity heard the doorbell of her shop ring and dashed back down the stairs, flustered and worried what this racing around was doing to her mane as she called out. “I’m sorry we’re closed.”
